A NEW WINERY, A NEW FRANCIACORTA WINE, A NEW TASTE, A NEW WAY OF ADMIRING OUR LANDSCAPE

Marzaghe is the land of Franciacorta. An area surrounded by sweet hills, located between two mountains: the Mount Alto and the Mount Orfano. These mountains protect it from the fogs coming from the plain and from the northern bitter cold. In addition, they attract the summer thunder storms which the massive Mount Guglielmo hurls towards Lake Iseo.
Lightnings and thunders cool down the earth, the earth cools down the grape that builds up the indispensable acidity, typical of Franciacorta sparkling wines.
Falling in love with our wines means favouring a more ancient land than the name that describes it. It is close to a peasant knowledge that has always obtained from our land an excellent wine, willing to embrace the modern vinification.
A fruitful dosage that has given birth to our Franciacorta wine: soft, light and rustling like the movement of the soul.

There is some gold underneath our vineyards, in Marzaghe’s land. A golden lamb, hidden by the Longobards, great merchants and flocks breeders. This is what an oral tradition tells. A lot of people searched this golden lamb, at least until the 40’s. Nowadays, only our vineyard roots look for it, finding their ways through the fresh earth. They might even have already found it! They look after and protect this golden lamb to let it be the grape’s “golden reserve” with which our winery produces our Marzaghe Franciacorta wine.

Our family have always owned 6 vineyards’ hectares, that have been kept although we oriented our entrepreneurial ability towards other goals. Some years ago, following who launched the Franciacorta Method in the 60’s and admiring the project, we realized it was time to go over the estate’s possession and the small production for only a select few.
